elansprint72 Posted May 23, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Been sorting out some stuff from the 70s and 80s for another book collaboration; this was the first time that Golf (Rabbit) GTis raced at Oulton Park; the car had not been launched in the UK yet, hence the LHD. Both VWs came to grief in the race; the other one in a major fashion. I like the relaxed look on the Mini driver's face.
Advertisement Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Hi elansprint72, Take a look here On two wheels. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
topoxforddoc Posted May 23, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 23, 2007 Great shot. There's just enough space between the front mini and the golf. Everything in focus - spot on. I presume you were standing trackside as one often did in thise days. Shame that at many circuits, one is pushed back by armco and run-off ares. azzo Posted May 23, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 23, 2007 Perfect timing and capture Pete. Lovely b&w tones and contrast. Azzo
elansprint72 Posted May 24, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted May 24, 2007 Charlie, Azzo, Thanks; I had a Press pass but in those days was limited to 18cm lens. This was probably the last race meeting where I was hampered by antique Leica rangefinder and lenses; I soon discovered Pentax SLRs and much longer lenses; a whole new world.
