Guest guy_mancuso Posted May 23, 2007 Share #5 Posted May 23, 2007 I think if you have the money and see a nice price on a 75mm lux it would be a smart buy , there just going to dry up on the used market sooner or later.
misha Posted May 23, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted May 23, 2007 Yes,Buy a CV 75/2.5. I gave up waiting. -bob i did have it at some point but gave up waiting for the right adaptor from b&h and returned it. .7m vs. 1m minimal focusing distance, and the extra stop are big for me. carstenw Posted May 23, 2007 Share #7 Posted May 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Peter, I think only the €2200 75 Lux is still at Leica Camera Berlin. I recall when they came in (I asked for them to be brought from their other store, and bought one of them), and the other one sold, I am pretty sure. If someone wants to buy one of these, they should definitely ask first.
tashley Posted May 23, 2007 Share #8 Posted May 23, 2007 Hi Misha, Hate to say this but I just went in to my dealer on a whim today, he had one and I bought. I know Jono did more or less the same thing a few days ago. My dealer is now cleaned out but try Robert White in the UK, they ship abroad and are good. For those looking for 49mm filters, try bart at H A Baker, Lewes: I got one today and I think they have more. Good luck Tim

carstenw Posted May 23, 2007 Share #12 Posted May 23, 2007 Carsten, you're a lucky guy Are you happy with this lens? Peter Yes, I love it! I got in there relatively early as the 75 Lux mania was just picking up speed, and asked Leica Camera Berlin to bring two promising copies in from their sister store in Hamburg, Leica bei Meister. I ended up falling in love with a 1st gen lens, which with a B+W 60mm IR slim filter (which comes with its own lens cap) is really perfect. I preferred the focusing feel of the older version, and the aperture ring is much wider. I also prefer the optional lens shade, since I often shoot without. The other one was in the store for just a few days before I found someone here to buy it. Later came another and I again found someone interested here. Now there is just one customer-comission copy there, for the pricey price of €2200 or so, last I checked, which is why I think their website may be out of date. tjphoto Posted May 23, 2007 Share #13 Posted May 23, 2007 I got mine a couple weeks ago from Camera West Monterey . They are great, and they have lots O Leica stuff. I discovered them while on a shoot down there, pick up a business card and later called them looking for 75mm lux. A couple days later they hooked me up with a very nice example. Good Place. woodyspedden Posted May 25, 2007 Share #18 Posted May 25, 2007 Hi all I have a brand new 75 cron which I bought to see the differences between it and the 90 APO cron. I have decided to keep the silver 90 and to sell the 75 at the new lens prices as it has only been used once to see how it compared. If anyone is interested PM me or email at elwood@wsnconsult.com Woody
