Well i own both lenses and i have been using the 35/2 v4 since the eighties. The 35/2 asph is sharper at fast apertures and (contrary to what you will read here and there) has less focus shift than the v4 and also less flare than the latter. But the 35/2 v4 is smaller in size and has the famous Mandler rendition. Sharp but not clinically so. Great lens indeed. I would keep it and shoot a couple hundred pics with it if i were you. FWIW.

Ta very much. I'll never sell this lens. Been in my possession for 12 years already and will go to my children when they start photography. May I ask why you have both? ;-) perhaps I should have both too. Or the 'lux... First world problems heh?

I use lenses like old wines i.e. too many... Don't do like me if you don't want spending hours to decide which ones you should bring in your bag. ;)

Except they don't preserve well with disuse and age. They need to be used and put into daylight to kill fungus.
