masjah Posted May 23, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted May 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) This place always does something to me! R8, 28/2.8 PC, Reala, "bundled" Fuji Frontierlab processing CD scan (I'm an unreconstructed film person I'm afraid!) crop and recale to forum dimensions using GIMP, no further sharpening. andybarton Posted May 23, 2007 Share #2  Posted May 23, 2007 Really well handled all round, John. I especially admire your crowd control skills  Hand held?
stuny Posted May 23, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted May 23, 2007 John - Â Superb for its geometry (including the proper use of the shift-lens), light, color and razor sharp details.
masjah Posted May 23, 2007 Author Share #4  Posted May 23, 2007 Andy and Stuart  Thanks for the kind comments.  Andy, no chance of hand holding - several seconds at f/11 - so a tripod job - I now use a geared head which is ideal for getting everything squared-up.  Stuart, I find colour can be a problem in cathedrals, because of the mix of daylight and strong tungsten spot and flood lighting. You can often end up with a choice of a blue cast on the daylight lit stonework, or a golden cast on the tungsten lit - there's often not a happy medium! Here I got lucky! masjah Posted May 23, 2007 Author Share #5 Â Posted May 23, 2007 PS: No crowd control - you just have to stand and wait until it's quiet - it does test my patience though!
