TK! Posted August 6, 2015 Share #1 Posted August 6, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, since I changed to the Q I wonder about the difference in colour I see in the JPEGs. Attached you find two Examples, all default settings in the Q and the X2. On my (not calibrated) monitor the melon from the X2 looks much more natural than from the Q (The Q-image promises much more than the melon actually offered. Taste was more X2-image like). At least the difference is astonishing. Is this what Leica addressed in the Lightroom update? Or is something wrong with my Q? Any hints welcome -TK Q: Welcome, dear visitor! lerkrel Posted August 6, 2015 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2015 This is exactly what the LR6 update has fixed.
barjohn Posted August 7, 2015 Share #3 Posted August 7, 2015 Yes, it fixed it on DNG files but you can't select anything but the embedded profile on JPGs so I'm not sure anything was done to JPGs. On DNGs the colors are more muted when the Adobe profile is selected.
jaapv Posted August 7, 2015 Share #4 Posted August 7, 2015 And if one gives the saturation and/or clarity slider a nudge? I guess the difference gets all but unnoticeable.
elmars Posted August 8, 2015 Share #5 Posted August 8, 2015 I see a slightly different exposure and a different color temperature (white balance). I think there will be no noticeable difference if both is adjusted. Elmar
tom0511 Posted August 8, 2015 Share #6 Posted August 8, 2015 I assume the profiles and jpg engine for that sensor are not yet optimized in regards of color. I also found the Q images too contrasty and with too much saturation, specially in the greens. I am sure it will further improve with firmware.
