WWII German 1/6 scale war photographer

Hmmm, maybe he's got two Leica's. Seems like the model maker pays attention to detail but I can't imagine why he'd have an ERC around his neck and then carry the camera - which has its own strap attached too - out of the case! Sorry to be pedantic!

He, that's fine, and not too expensive... I am thinking to make an offer: never bought anything on ebay, but think that for such an item an such a price can worth the risk: I am thinking that if I can take it I would adapt it to make a keychain...I saw delicious 1/6 scaled Leica bodies (250 included) at my dealer's shop... but they are GENUINE GOLDEN... better to pass away... dealer told me he acquired the set (with a fine wooden case) in a moment of "spending crazyness"... preferred not to detail the price

This seems to have been made with little research , there never was a Propaganda Photographer

War correspondents where " Kriegsberichterstatter" I do know this is a mouthful but correct.

Cheers Manfred

  • 2 weeks later...

The German army used the Propagandakompanie cuff title for war correspondents from 1938 until 1941. Kriegsberichter and Kriegsberichter des Heeres were used as well, but it isn't really clear exactly when.

Most sane war photographers would, I'd imagine, carry more than one camera. Loading a Barnack while walking is difficult enough. Try it while in combat.

I've done it under simulated fire while at a reenactment, and it's certainly not for the faint of heart.
