lillyphoto Posted July 17, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 17, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) First time shooting in low light and dark backgrounds and noticed this little spec inside the viewfinder. Not a single mark on the lens or lcd screen. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Advertisement Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Hi lillyphoto, Take a look here Dead pixel? Dust? inside electronic Viewfinder. . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ricky1981 Posted July 17, 2015 Share #2 Posted July 17, 2015 Hard to tell but looks like a dead/faulty pixel, if it bothers you then return it for a replacement. No point putting up with it if it will niggle at you each time you use it
d0c0m001 Posted July 17, 2015 Share #3 Posted July 17, 2015 Did you buy this from a Leica store? If so, I will at least show this to the rep...
viramati Posted July 17, 2015 Share #4 Posted July 17, 2015 Not saying nothing is there but I can't see anything in your photo
jaapv Posted July 17, 2015 Share #5 Posted July 17, 2015 Probably a dead pixel. One of the things I dislike in EVFs.
jip Posted July 17, 2015 Share #6 Posted July 17, 2015 EVF = more pixels* = more chance of faults! * compared to none in a OVF ^^
pop Posted July 17, 2015 Share #7 Posted July 17, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Have you never seen any dust particles or bright specks in an OVF?
bernie.lcf Posted July 17, 2015 Share #8 Posted July 17, 2015 Have you never seen any dust particles or bright specks in an OVF? well, you don't usually see anything when looking through the viewfinder... but it is still annoying when you find one and this would happen ever so often with the M viewfinder
lillyphoto Posted July 18, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted July 18, 2015 Spoke with Leica repair department this morning and sent them pictures. I sent it out for them to look at it. If it's dust, they will remove. If it's a pixel, they will replace. To be continued...
lillyphoto Posted August 13, 2015 Author Share #10 Posted August 13, 2015 The Q finally came back today. The EVF was actually scratch from the inside. Obviously from production. I'm not sure how it passed quality control. Anyways, the problem is worse now. I turned it on to test and took a picture, and it completely froze on me. I have to take the battery out to power off. I kept testing it and it seems like after a picture is taken, it locks up. I then reset the camera from the menu, and now after it powers on, I have nothing but a black screen. None of the buttons are responsive and I still have to eject the battery to shut down the camera. What a nightmare! I let service know about this issue and at this point, they said we should replace it. But one huge problem, they can't because they don't have any in stock. I hope I didn't get a lemon. This is so frustrating!!
