knightfall Posted July 3, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 3, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Finally received my Q today. After fully charging its battery, I fired it up, but just got an error message on the rear screen. I attached the photo I took below. I tried many combinations; restarting, removing battery, waiting 1hr without battery... nothing helped. What do you suggest? What would be the fastest route, contacting BH or Leica USA??? Thanks in advance!

viramati Posted July 4, 2015 Share #5 Posted July 4, 2015 You started up without an SD card. Should say that no SD card Is installed not system error at least that is what mine does when I forget to put the card in and anyway it still works without a card. I would take it back to the dealer

Eesand Posted July 4, 2015 Share #7 Posted July 4, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) probably worth making sure you have a properly formatted sd card in it, or at least properly prepared to be formatted by the camera, e.g. a fat type partition. I did that and the first time up I got the error, then turned it off and back on and it has been fine since.
knightfall Posted July 6, 2015 Author Share #8 Posted July 6, 2015 Right after unboxing, I charged the battery, that's what I usually do with my all electronics. First, I started the camera without any card in. Got the error. Then turned it off, tried again, no go. I put a SD card, tried again, no go. Pull out the battery, waited a while, and tried again, same error. I emailed Leica and BH, still waiting for a response, due to long weekend probably. Manoleica Posted July 6, 2015 Share #10 Posted July 6, 2015 I had to return my 1st Safari240 to B&H, as it was a Jewish holiday and the changeover time was nearly 10days I requested a full refund. I called Leica Miami and they shipped a new Safari240 set overnight. Normally B&H are pretty good, it's the Holidays that create the problems.. Hard as it is, patience is the key word..
