Advertisement Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Hi tatetate, Take a look here 50mm Cron Version 3 Vs Nokton 50mm F/1.5 Voigtlander. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
TomB_tx Posted June 16, 2015 Share #2 Â Posted June 16, 2015 Depends on what you value in the image. I have both lenses, and generally prefer the v3 Summicron for its contrast rendition. The Nokton is good, but different, more tendency for fringing. The chrome Nokton is superb mechanically, but the thin focus ring is strange. The way sharpness falls off from the plane of focus seems different too, and often with the Nokton I seem to miss focus a bit - but focus test show it is right on. TomB_tx Posted June 16, 2015 Share #3 Â Posted June 16, 2015 I should add that I used the LTM version of the Nokton on my M9 quite a bit, and somehow found it more consistent on focus and clarity. My M mount sample seems less predictable in real shooting, although the test shots are close between the two. I was concerned enough to exchange my first M version, but the second is the same. Something intangible isn't as good for me.

bocaburger Posted June 17, 2015 Share #5  Posted June 17, 2015 First off I have never owned or used the Nokton. However I did read Erwin Puts' review of the LTM version back in the film days, and recall it said the fingerprint was similar to the pre-ASPH Summilux but slightly better (in what way I do not remember). He also says in his compendium that the 11817 Summicron has a similar fingerprint to the Summilux in terms of having more sharpness in the central area than in the field even when stopped down, although the Cron achieves it sooner (that is, by f/4-5.6 vs f/8-11 for the Lux). I did own the 11817 at the same time as the Lux and found his assessment to agree with my experience. Therefore, extrapolating, I would imagine the Nokton rests somewhere in-between. Not bad considering the cost. I have many CV lenses and have not been the slightest disappointed in any of them in any way, including how they have stood up to use over the years. Hope this is helpful a little. elvispreasley Posted June 17, 2015 Share #6 Â Posted June 17, 2015 Never used a Nokton, but used to have a cron III and IV, which performed just a little above my expectation: great resolution, creamy smooth bokeh, superb build quality and small size. Fabulous lenses! So my vote is for the cron III)Â
tatetate Posted November 9, 2015 Author Share #7  Posted November 9, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Added this lovely piece of glass to my list, here is the shot wide open at 1.5 and light coming through window. very pleased for what it costs and how it performs. Weather is really crappy and will try it outdoors.  Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members!
