ananda Posted June 3, 2015 Share #1 Â Posted June 3, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am considering the 50 APO. Price down a bit since dollar up. QUESTION: I really like to mount a circular B&H Kaesemann Pol on my Leica lenses. This works fine for my 50 Lux ASPH and my 28 Elmarit ASPH. I know how to read the meter when I turn the polarizer. CAN I MOUNT THE SAME FILTER ON THE 50 SUMMICRON APO? AND USE IT THE SAME WAY? Has anyone tried this?

Bill W Posted June 4, 2015 Share #2 Â Posted June 4, 2015 The APO 50 has a 39mm filter size as does the 28 Elmarit. The 50 Lux is 46 though I believe. Regardless, the filter should work the same.
Herr Barnack Posted June 18, 2015 Share #3 Â Posted June 18, 2015 At the risk of stating the obvious, a 39-46mm step ring would address the size difference, saving you a few $$.

Yes, but it will often cost you the use of a shade, probably not as much of an issue with a polarizer though since one is pointing away from the sun.
