Adge Posted May 26, 2015 Share #1 Posted May 26, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello folks, New to this forum Wondered if you experts on binoculars could possibly assist? I have just bought a pair of new Leica binoculars. They are due to arrive tomorrow having purchased them online from a reputable dealer. Model: Geovid HD-R 10x42 rangefinder binoculars Link: http://www.uttings.co.uk/p117130-leica-geovid-hd-r-10x42-rangefinder-binoculars/ I have now noticed that one day later they have put a newer model up on the site for only £100 more. Model: Geovid HD-R 10x42 (type 403) rangefinder binoculars Link: http://www.uttings.co.uk/p120641-leica-geovid-hd-r-10x42-type-403-rangefinder-binoculars My question is thus: Is there much difference between the two, and if there is, should I send the others back unopened and get the newer model? I have absolutely no idea. Thanks for any advice!

dkCambridgeshire Posted June 1, 2015 Share #3 Posted June 1, 2015 Have you used a 10x binocular previously? An 8x magnification is very much more comfortable to use - especially if you need the rangefinder function. dunk

Jager Posted June 10, 2015 Share #5 Posted June 10, 2015 I have the Geovid HD-B in 8x42, used for hunting and shooting. A truly exceptional piece of glass. And the laser rangefinder function is incredibly helpful for long-range shooting.
