Louis Posted May 9, 2015 Share #1 Posted May 9, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I always convert my B/W photos from ( color ) raw files! But today, I tried to see how in-camera B/W shots with 109 are; and I must admit, they are not too bad!

XVarior Posted May 10, 2015 Share #4 Posted May 10, 2015 Very nice an clean. also like the glossiness about them. Sometimes, it's not possible to mimic what the In-Camera B&W by using LR or SilverEffex Pro!
Louis Posted May 10, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted May 10, 2015 Lee and Rodrigue, thank you very much for your positive feedback. Rodrigue, to answer your question from the other place, It was the first time I was trying in-camera B/W with this camera. I have tried it couple of times before with my other cameras, but I always preferred to shoot in color (RAW) and then convert my files to B/W with Silver Efex. By doing this, I have more data to work with and I have the impression of getting more details and tonal range.

Iduna Posted May 11, 2015 Share #7 Posted May 11, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) nice series with an excellent no 2 and 4 as my favourites. The rendering is nice. But I would always prefer rendering from RAW, because the BWs of the camera are based on the jpg and loose quality. But your series is showing good samples for allround usage though. Thank you very much, Iduna. I completely agree with you and always shoot in RAW that later convert to B/W with Silver Efex. I just wanted to try it with this new camera, probably because of the announcement of 246!
