Guest VVJ Posted April 19, 2015 Share #21 Posted April 19, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have 1.31. It seems that if the preview is off and you shoot dng + jpeg there is still a preview. You can shout when the preview is ok but there is no live view. There is still one but not as long as 3 seconds, at least not in my case, more like 1 second. I am shooting a fast card though, the Sandisk Extreme PRO 280 MB/s. Joe Lazio Posted April 23, 2015 Share #22 Posted April 23, 2015 Well, my T with the last fw release, is able to reduce the time, I've set it at 1 sec...
FeralCoton Posted April 24, 2015 Share #23 Posted April 24, 2015 Sorry. iPad autocorrect. I meant that even if I turn off the preview it is still there. You an press the shutter and shout but the about 1 sec preview will be there.
bernie.lcf Posted April 24, 2015 Share #24 Posted April 24, 2015 Precisely what I said in my posting. There is a delay during save which looks like a one second preview, but probably is just a delay. (regardless of firmware and regardless of preview setting)
Don Morley Posted April 28, 2015 Author Share #25 Posted April 28, 2015 Precisely what I said in my posting. There is a delay during save which looks like a one second preview, but probably is just a delay. (regardless of firmware and regardless of preview setting) This seems to be a download delay problem when shooting DNG as well as Jpegs. And the only way out of what I still reckon is at least a three second delay, certainly as far as I can see is by not shooting DNG's as well, which in my view is quite unnaceptable and as I said at the start " My T Fails The Commonsense Test" (So if any one out there is interested in buying a little used Leica T, 11-23 Lens, and Visoflex etc I think it will soon be for sale as it has failed my most basic test!). thighslapper Posted April 28, 2015 Share #26 Posted April 28, 2015 Sorry ...... but there is either something wrong with your camera or you have some strange menu setting that is causing this ....... I have just taken a sequence of shots of my dog in the garden ....... 1.5 secs start up time. EVF view within 0.5 secs of bringing to eye. Review appears instantly in EVF after taking shot Depressing shutter halfway immediately clears this and allows next shot .... and so on ...... the delay is a fraction of a second and hardly noticeable ...... took 6 consecutive shots .... WITH review after each in 3 seconds TOTAL. I would strongly advise you to try another camera before dumping it. This is NOT normal behaviour ...... Don Don, have you tried a high speed SD card? As others have suggested, it does seem to be the answer. It solved the problem for me. I am now using a Lexar Professional 600x (90MB/s). With my camera set to record DNG + Superfine JPG and with auto-review set to off, I still see the image flash up on the screen after taking a shot but now it is there for a split second rather than the three seconds that you're seeing. Blink and you miss it. I would rather off meant off but it's not a problem any more.

I will buy and try a Lexar Pro before selling up. Don
thighslapper Posted April 29, 2015 Share #30 Posted April 29, 2015 I still think you have a duff camera. Not convinced that even an ancient SD card is going to slow things down that much .......
Don Morley Posted May 1, 2015 Author Share #31 Posted May 1, 2015 Interesting thought, maybe I do have (Yet Another) duff Leica camera though I do hope not as as yet I have not yet reccovered from the M9 sensor debacle. Don.
Don Morley Posted May 14, 2015 Author Share #32 Posted May 14, 2015 Just a udate with thanks to everyone who made useful suggestions. I have now tried several faster SD cards, and as others have advised, got the delay down even when shooting high res jpegs and DNG's to about a second, which though not perfect is a vast imptovement, so thank you again to all who responded.
