Artichoke Posted May 16, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 16, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Houston's Art Car Parade is an annual event & one of my favorites since I moved here nearly 20 years ago it has grown considerably and despite the intrusions of corporate influences, still retains its folk art roots attached are some from this year's parade Sashimi Tabernacle Choir [ATTACH]37785[/ATTACH] this piscine Art Car has a coordinated hydraulic system that animates its creatures so they dance to Handel's Messiah ...you have to see this to believe it Mirror Image [ATTACH]37786[/ATTACH] a long time favorite of mine ...I worry about the young lady riding in the top car ...this amazing creation was moving quickly Jesus Christ Monkey Car [ATTACH]37787[/ATTACH] I am surprised that this blasphemous car has survived Art Car Parades unscathed ...Houston is a fairly tolerant town, but there are folks with strong fundementalist views here as well ...a classic in your face Art Car I have larger versions and many, many more examples of this unique art form (which I find very amusing) here Art Cars Photo Gallery by Artichoke Vinagrette at pbase.com hope you enjoy seeing these let me know what you think Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
