Dikaiosune01 Posted March 20, 2015 Share #1 Â Posted March 20, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) i don't like the weight of my 50mm lux asph. It is quite light and really smooth, like butter on a baby's bottom; it is also easy to knock off focus. Breathing too heavily can be enough to get the focus off. Â I realize that my shot discipline and skill level needs to be improved too; but I can't help but think that this lens would be better if The focusing was heavier. I feel that the added weight would give me more confidence in my focusing.
Advertisement Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Hi Dikaiosune01, Take a look here Can the weight of the focusing ring be made heavier?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Erik Gunst Lund Posted March 20, 2015 Share #2 Â Posted March 20, 2015 Change the lubricant in the focus threads, it's that simple. They come in different stickyness, although Leica will probably stick to their recommendation for that given lens... Â The chrome (Brass) lens will be havier but only the weight of the lens not so much the feel...

However you can get the feel changed by a service man. Malcolm Taylor made my 40mm Summicron-C heavier and more positive when he serviced it and Will Van Manen did the same on my 80-200 Vario-Elmar-R, where the friction device had become detached.
