Steve - I am aware of this, although there is a video out there of Garry from 1982 in Los Angeles using a an early version 28mm Elmarit.

That's around the same time he started to amass his vast collection of unprocessed film,.........and two years later he died. Buyers remorse?

Steve - yes, a depressingly sad and abrupt ending he had. I think he just couldn't keep up with his shooting volume. I don't think it was so much that he was hoarding it. He must have shot over 5 million exposures over his life. And he did all dev and printing in-house.

I've shot a B&W and color roll with this lens and can report that it is a piece of sh$t.

My 28mm summaron is MUCH better all around.

Back to Japan it goes....

Can you post some examples? In any event, sounds like you saved me a chunk of change. Wide-angle lenses are more difficult to do, there are some surprises. The Nikkor 2.8cm F3.5 is quite good on my Monochrom.

Here's one with Tri-X pushed to 1000

not too revealing; i will try to be more illustrative with my next examples

I have had good luck with the Canon 28mm f/2.8.  Good color, good definition.  Just dumb luck I suppose.

I seemed to have lucked out in this B&W with an M8.2 and the Canon 28mm f/2.8. I am not sure what is wrong with this lens.  But I am sure someone can help me out with its flaws.  Thanks for your guidance.
