sml_photo Posted March 16, 2015 Share #1 Posted March 16, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Former Leica user and I'm back again. I had a M4 with a 35 Summilux, 50mm Summicron, and 90mm Tele-Elmarit from 1974 until around 2000. At that point, I began using Canon gear and migrated completely to digital. Now, I'm back with Leica! Got the M-P Safari kit (with the 35mm Summicron). JUST got it the other day and signed up for the Forum right away. (I still have my Canon gear.) Hoping to join in and participate! I've already been reading a bunch of threads, trying to figure out some settings and answer some questions.

Ken. Appreciated, hamey! I gave it a two hour workout yesterday. Getting to know the nuances again. It's been a while.... Only this time, it's digital. And I'm really impressed with the lens. Manoleica Posted March 18, 2015 Share #8 Posted March 18, 2015 Hi All, spent the last 2 days giving the Safari" a good shakedown. First impressions:- Jpegs look more clinical than those from the X1 & XVario. Going to be using DNG/Raw forthwith.... The Menu system certainly needs tidying up, with Delete needing an easier route. I love the Info button, though mine is very sensitive to the touch, on this matter I'm contacting Leica..Also I could not add it to my equipment list in the Leica Members Area, camera Serial Number not recognized! I'm awaiting a call from Leica..the camera looks much lighter than it actually is, quite a heavy beast really.. 2 days of pure photography ahead, the M's certainly have a learning curve, my last M was the M6, memories came flooding back as I fiddled and focussed.. Pure photographic heaven

Manoleica Posted March 21, 2015 Share #10 Posted March 21, 2015 A? - the Copyright setting, exactly what is it used for? Excuse my ignorance:eek:
DigitalHeMan Posted March 21, 2015 Share #11 Posted March 21, 2015 A? - the Copyright setting, exactly what is it used for? Excuse my ignorance:eek: I haven't seen it in person, but if it is the same as other vendors (Nikon for example) it will add your copyright data to the exif data of each image. You can then use this information when you export an image from Lightroom to overlay the copyright at the bottom right of each photo, or simply have it in the exif to protect your artistic property. I don't have that on my M-E, so I have an import preset that i use to append the same data to the exif on import.
