IWC Doppel Posted February 26, 2015 Share #3 Posted February 26, 2015 Start scratching I did the same with an M8 and 'one' lens. I know have 15 lenses and an M9-P, still get the itch every now and then, I still have a Monochrom itch......

jackstraw Posted February 26, 2015 Share #5 Posted February 26, 2015 I applied a generous coating of cortisone cream to my M9P and MM bodies in the hope that it would alleviate the itch...didn't help.
Jeff S Posted February 26, 2015 Share #6 Posted February 26, 2015 I applied a generous coating of cortisone cream to my M9P and MM bodies in the hope that it would alleviate the itch...didn't help. Would seem that you're supposed to rub it all over you; the equipment doesn't have the itch. There are pills for gas, too. Can't be sure... I don't have the problem. thighslapper Posted February 26, 2015 Share #8 Posted February 26, 2015 Leica medication is more expensive and therefore theoretically more potent ..... .... plus you have the placebo effect which is enhanced by Leica stamped on the medication.... IWC Doppel Posted February 27, 2015 Share #9 Posted February 27, 2015 Damn 15 lenses! I started a thread to see what the average was and when I had a humble 10 I was average. One mentioned 80+
tookaphotoof Posted February 27, 2015 Share #10 Posted February 27, 2015 I'm ready for an extra M-A, Monochrom and 18mm Super Elmar. Waiting for my bank account to catch up with my needs. Something keeps going wrong somehow. Note to self: buy less food...
Leica Fanatic Posted February 27, 2015 Share #11 Posted February 27, 2015 . . . Note to self: buy less food... Or live in a tent?
tobey bilek Posted February 27, 2015 Share #12 Posted February 27, 2015 I would not buy and product that has the sensor corrosion problem.
tookaphotoof Posted February 27, 2015 Share #13 Posted February 27, 2015 I have more than good experiences with Leica service so the corrosion risk doesn't scare me. A tent would be a step too far for 365 days a year, but I could consider putting a camper unit on my pickup. Probably already would have done that if I was still single... Jeff S Posted February 27, 2015 Share #15 Posted February 27, 2015 I started a thread to see what the average was and when I had a humble 10 I was average. One mentioned 80+ Average of those who responded to a thread about owning lenses….in a gear oriented Leica forum. Most owners likely own far less and aren't bothering to respond, or even participating in the forum. BTW, I didn't respond and I'm well under your average count. I think most users, even those who own more, generally use one or two most often, over a long period of time. Collectors (the 80+ crowd) are another audience altogether. ktmrider2 Posted February 27, 2015 Share #16 Posted February 27, 2015 Have a black M9 which just had a CLA by Leica, NJ, last month and had the sensor replaced as well. Also have a 21f4 with viewfinder. Will sell both as I want to go back to film. If interested, email ktmrider2@live.com or call 915 588 5054. Leica Fanatic Posted February 27, 2015 Share #17 Posted February 27, 2015 I would not buy and product that has the sensor corrosion problem. Excellent point.. Tx I recall reading in a recent and exceptionally well written review (with superb street photography), that if you buy your used M from Leica Select, you get a 24 month manufacturers warranty and of course, the sensor replacement promise from Leica. The incredibly talented (and rather handsome) guy who wrote it reckons this makes purchasing a used M9 (sorry, M-E) a no brainer.
Manoleica Posted February 28, 2015 Author Share #18 Posted February 28, 2015 Leica Select sounds great, but I only see it available in the UK.. I have always had great service @ B&H so will stay with them. I'm not really too worried about the sensor issue as Leica have the issue covered 100%.. The lens decision has me scratching my head! Knowing me I will probably spring for a new 35mm M Leica & be done with it...But I will check around the dealerships for a nice used M-E & 28 or 35mm before I finally pull the trigger.. Manoleica Posted March 2, 2015 Author Share #20 Posted March 2, 2015 Just ordered (B&H) New M-E, used 35mm Biogon(Pretty good write up) + hood/filter/Schott screen protector. I was a little worried about the sensor on the used M-E, so went for new. I can always return the Biogon for a Leica lens.. The 35mm Skopar mentioned in other Posts is a little soft according to some...
