For that I was considering getting a 15mm Voightlander. I already have a 28mm Elmar, 50mm cron and 90 summarit, so I'm thinking the 15mm may complement the setup nicely. If I get it, I'd probably leave the 28mm at home (thoughts? - I haven't really travelled with my M before (still quite new)). Â Anyone else waiting for the new 15mm? :-) Â ---- When life gives you lemons, place them in a nice bowl, add a softbox, and do some sweet still-life shots. Don't leave art home the 28... You haven't specified if your Leica is a full frame or a M8/M8.2... But if is a FF... 15 is really a STRONG WA:o. AFAIK, there aren't any infos on the new CV15, apart what you read on their site... a new design, bigger size having more elements than the previous... clearly and openly targeted to afford the limitations of the current design with M240... An appreciable effort... I'm very curios to see the first tests, because 15 is a fascinating focal, and the injitial reason of the success of CV.... While waiting.... Yes, it is a big gap between 15 and 50mm, and the only reason for not bringing the 28mm would be to limit the amount of glass I carry around. On one hand I'd prefer a 3-lens setup (which I currently have), but the 15mm could give some new perspectives (I'm using the M240). I plan to do a good bit of overnight hiking in mountains and desert areas, which is why I'm trying to limit the amount of gear I bring. Â Initially I wasn't sure whether to bring my Leica system, or to go with my Fuji X-E1. But I think I've decided on the Leica. epand56 Posted February 5, 2015 Share #4 Â Posted February 5, 2015 You have to know that the CV 15 on the Leica M 240 is very prone to a strong magenta cast on both sides of the pictures (on the right in particular). Because I have two of the LTM versions, one marked Voigtlander and the other Cosina, and neither of them presents any magenta casts at all on either of my two M240's. Zip. Nada. Coded as 21mm Elmarit-M Pre-ASPH. Â And have you tried a UV-IR filter? Those are known for cyan corners with wide angle lenses, and cyan is the complementary color to magenta. I add that, to be honest, Cornerfix solves the issue smartly and easily... indeed I decided to sell the lens just for two reasons and a timing coincidence : - A friend of mine tested it on its Fuji X Pro, was very satisfied and bought it at a price good for him and for me too (I bought this lens used 7 years ago...) - And this, just few days after I saw the pre-announcement of the new CV 15... from the description published, is clear that CV had precisely targeted the usage of it on M240.  The new lens seems to lack just a very appreciable feature of the old SM version : its fantastic compactness and lightness, but isn't a great problem for me. fotomas Posted February 6, 2015 Share #11  Posted February 6, 2015 Hello,  I did a comparison with my M 240 and my old screw-mount VC15 I vs. the new III version at the Voitgländer booth at the photokina. The magenta issues was gone. Also image-quality in the corners was improved compared to the old version. They told me it was not a prototype and will be the same design in the final version. So I'm also waiting for this lens. In the german forum was a advice that it could be pre ordered now and will be available in march. They do cancel each other out nicely. I know this for a fact because I had those so-called magenta corners even with coding on my 21 Elmarit on my M9 prior to Leica reworking the corrections in a firmware update. An IR filter cancelled out the magenta corners almost entirely. It would be worth a try for anyone who is having this problem with their 15. Idk if it would work. I don't get the problem with either of my 15's, using 21 Elmarit-M pre-ASPH coding, so I have no way of testing it. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The WATE coding worked great on the M8. On the M9 and M240 I had to recode to 21/2.8 PRE-Asph. Â Â The new lens seems to lack just a very appreciable feature of the old SM version : its fantastic compactness and lightness, but isn't a great problem for me. Â Yeah that's a HUGE problem for me. And the reason I never upgraded to the M version 1 even though it has filter threads and rangefinder coupling. On a typical week to 10-day trip I might take half a dozen shots with the 15.
