Lately I've been adding grain in Lightroom to my M10M portraits to get a more film-like look. I'm not knocking the digital look of the M10M files—I like that, too—but I also like this more-retro, vintage feel. M10M, 75mm Summicron, orange filter, processed in Lightroom and Silver Efex Pro 3.

I like the slight grain effect, along with the addition of the border. The image is attractively soft, for the 75mm, maybe partly because of the grain filter, maybe focus is slightly behind the eyes. That does not matter, the subject and expression wins the day for you. Nice pic.

Thank you. Yes, it's soft for three reasons, two of which you named: I missed the focus by a bit, I added the grain, and I applied the Subtle Glow preset in Silver Efex. All because when I looked at the image on my computer, I liked her expression but saw I'd missed the focus. So I decided to make it look intentional ;–)

One more image from my shoot with my neighbor, Jessica. It was an overcast day, which was working well for portraits, when the sun suddenly broke through the cloud ceiling to create a highlight on her hair. That worked, too. M10, 75mm Summicron.

What a stunnung portrait! The background works very well with the blurred person in the background and the windows on the top. I also like her facial expression. Is it Kendo or Aikodo?
