Advertisement Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Hi pop, Take a look here Problem film advance M-A. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Magnus_L_Andersson Posted May 14, 2015 Author Share #42 Posted May 14, 2015 A few weeks ago the camera finally arrived from Germany and according to the specs it looks like almost everything inside was replaced and tuned. Most have been easier to just replace the whole camera... The most obvious difference other than it is working is the release that is much smoother. Anyone else who have had similar problems? machmaphoto Posted May 14, 2015 Share #43 Posted May 14, 2015 I know also such a similar problem with my IIIg in the region of about 5 pictures before the end of the film. Then the spool begins to slip because the tension becomes too high - i think there is a sort of gear in the spool that does not function in the right manner. - Now I am happy to see that your problem could be fixed For all others: 1. I dont know how to fix this problem. 2. But I changed the film type - in my case it depends on the (thickness ?) of the film and the problem I found with no other film than my beloved Rossmann 400. I did not take him in this camera any more and hence there is no further problem for me. 3. If a change of used film does not help in your case because your problem exists with every film you could ask anyone who probably knows it, whether there is a method to fix the spool. It would be also interesting for me. This what i call the "gear" must be not to tight but also not too slippy. But i do not know how to manage this. 4. If there is no way to fix the spool - change it to another and try out whether your problem is gone. 5. Do not waste your time to try out it without film. I did it and came to the solution - no film no problem. For me the problem is a too slippy "gear" of the spool. Regards, Berthold.
