Advertisement Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Hi freitz, Take a look here Aspherical so non spherical what is it actually?!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
IWC Doppel Posted January 29, 2015 Share #22 Posted January 29, 2015 Is that double aspherical "all that"? Wondered what the big deal was all about, besides rarity. I too have the 35 Summilux aspherical and currently have two other 35's the MkIV Summiron and the f2.8 Summaron. The aspherical is very special, I had some time with the FLE as well for me the clear winner was the Aspherical. My copy was a lucky find at a London dealer who wasn't aware of the value so I could try it and not lose in doing so (Well make tbh). I did some comments a while back, I'll find the thread shortly but can say it's my favourite lens. It has that rare ability to create amazing image depth, real naturalness with it's resolution (more 'clear' and less 'sharp' somehow) being better than any other 35 I've had. The bokeh has real movement and frame the subject beautifully, and the colouring is sublime (A real richness and density that reminds me of the f1 Noctilux in low light). It fetches collectors money, but my copy is used for it's photographic qualities a shame it's so expensive ! I did a lot of A-B's with the very nice ASPH. which does have more focus shift, but still lovely IMO and a softer bokeh than the aspherical
