Advertisement Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Hi jaapv, Take a look here Sometimes I experience a lag between shots M-P(240). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wparsonsgisnet Posted January 13, 2015 Share #42 Posted January 13, 2015 halal, This behavior is simply dark field noise reduction at work. That's all. At 1/2sec + 1/2 second of dark field the camera won't be recycled and ready for the next shot any faster than >1.0 seconds. In shooting this camera just take a split second longer before you depress the shutter a second time and you will be fine. At 1/2sec it might be wise to hold the shutter button down through the entire shutter sequence and try not to stab at the shutter button to assure the lowest amount of camera shake. Then, release slowly and smoothly... then depress again slowly and smoothly to get the least amount of camera shake for the second shot. For me, it is impossible to go faster than the camera can cycle at 1/2sec setting. Lastly, I'm impressed the camera doesn't lock-up with multiple shutter accusations during the dark field and write sequence. Good to know that Leica engineers have thought about this. Rick I agree this is a dark slide noise reduction taking place. I get the same lockup on my M(240) when shooting in the dark at f16. The red light flashes while the black image is being recorded for subtraction ----- and clicking the shutter has NO effect. With regard to the last sentence above in Rick's info, this behavior is particular to lockup when getting the black info for subtraction. When I fill the buffer from shooting rapidly, I also get a blinking red light while the writing to the card is going on. In this case, when the problem is a full buffer, clicking the shutter "stores" a "take the picture" command. When a picture's worth of buffer clears, the shutter will go off --- probably not capturing the image you had in mind. I believe your M is working correctly. So, don't sell cheap to anyone other than me.
