One reason why I am using high contrast is because it seems to result in less severe grain effects - possibly because the exposure is not quite right. erl Posted December 27, 2014 Share #5 Posted December 27, 2014 First welcome to the forum. Second, I really like your image because of the contrast. The grain suits that particular image. The interaction of the ladies shadow with her requires the strength. Third, the grain may well be coming from the film and/or the developer. You can control the grain by variations in those two at least. Also, your scanning will have some influence on the grain.
