pauledell Posted December 25, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted December 25, 2014 Mark, Â Welcome to the forum. A fine street image that seems well composed with crisp sharpness. For my taste, I find the contrast a bit harsh. Keep up the good work and let us see more. Â Paul
Mark II Posted December 25, 2014 Author Share #3 Â Posted December 25, 2014 Thanks. I am still very uncertain about the digital PP from a film scan. One reason why I am using high contrast is because it seems to result in less severe grain effects - possibly because the exposure is not quite right. Â BTW, do you know why the IMG tags are showing the URL rather than the image itself?
stuny Posted December 27, 2014 Share #4 Â Posted December 27, 2014 It's not too unusual for externally hosted images to be problematic. I most sternly urge you to just post the images directly here in jpegs. Â Lovely photo.
erl Posted December 27, 2014 Share #5 Â Posted December 27, 2014 First welcome to the forum. Second, I really like your image because of the contrast. The grain suits that particular image. The interaction of the ladies shadow with her requires the strength. Â Third, the grain may well be coming from the film and/or the developer. You can control the grain by variations in those two at least. Â Also, your scanning will have some influence on the grain. If you can, compare the scan with a hard copy print (darkroom) to see the variation.
