tobey bilek Posted December 11, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 11, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I guess they are replacing. Perhaps a new more durable design is possible. But to me I would be pleased with the M8 sensor and use the uv/ir filters on the lens. This is a proven solution now and no reengineering is required. Advertisement Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Hi tobey bilek, Take a look here New M9 sensor. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted December 11, 2014 Share #2 Posted December 11, 2014 Just for those who kept their filters... I was VERY glad to throw them into the bin, when the M9 turned around the corner. Best. GEORG
jaapv Posted December 11, 2014 Share #3 Posted December 11, 2014 Given that they are still needed for utmost colour fidelity on the M240 and to alesser extent on the M9,I would say the bin is not the best pace to store them.
bocaburger Posted December 11, 2014 Share #4 Posted December 11, 2014 I still have mine. I'm glad they are now like any other filter, to be deployed in specific situations, not a mandatory fixture on every lens.
david strachan Posted December 13, 2014 Share #5 Posted December 13, 2014 Just for those who kept their filters... I was VERY glad to throw them into the bin, when the M9 turned around the corner. Best. GEORG I don't mind the filters on my M8. I don't usually use filters generally on other cameras, always lens hoods for flare and contrast control though. If doing IR filters are necessary...also ND's sometimes...red/yellow/greens with B&W film, etc I suppose I never let the UV/IR filter thing "get to me". Groovy colours... cheers Dave S
