dugby Posted May 11, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted May 11, 2007 Hey John, I'm from a Perth also...!!!! but diagonally opposite to you . Â This topic of D2 failures is well documented , if you do a search on "D2 sensor failure" in this forum. Â Anyway, your D2 is about to head to the Solms Hospital for a stay-over. Â If you look at the News pages on the Leica Camera website you will find the "Extended D2 Warranty" that Leica offers, which I used for my repair. Â I "had" to buy a D3 (L1) whilst my D2 was in Solms........and am so glad I did.

wlaidlaw Posted May 11, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted May 11, 2007 Be prepared to be without for about 6 weeks. They replaced mine rather than repaired. Mine was one of the earlier failures in Nov 05 (bought dec 04). I bought a Sony R1 in the meantime as UK had a go at repairing first and then Solms replaced, which actually took 12 weeks. I sold my "new" D2 when it came back but I missed the feel and look of Leica images so have now replaced the R1 with an M8. Â Wilson
