Our German-speaking colleagues have a special section "Faszination Eisenbahn" for railway fans. Since we do not, I choose "Technology and Industry", even if my subject is not really "technological". Or maybe it was...long ago.

Tavira is a very old, still human-sized little city in the South-East end of Algarve, Portugal, a few kilometers from the Spanish border. Just next, there is a place called Pedras del Rey, famous for its endless beach, the "praya do Barril". But to reach the beach, one has to cross a lagoon and about one kilometer of sandy grounds. A small "train", existing as long as the locals can remember, is offered to old, tired...or lazy walkers. There is even a little station ! Here are some of the images I took last week-end.
