DirkR440 Posted November 6, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted November 6, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, Â Since a few month I really got the taste of using color filters while taking pictures with the Monochrom. Â Meanwhile I have about ten of them and I wonder if anybody has every seen a usefuss bag or anything like that to store them? Â Thanks Dirk
sanyasi Posted November 6, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted November 6, 2014 I've been using pouches designed for that purpose by Tarmrac. There are 8 compartments in the pouch. It is designed for larger DSLR lenses, but that has not been a problem. You can put 2 Leica lens filters in each compartment. The pouch then folds up and is sealed with Velcro. I have never lost or broken a filter. The pouch fits on the inner top of my day bag, or a side pocket. Â I discovered one problem. Don't set the pouch on grass or a dirt, leaf surface. Stuff sticks to the canvas fiber coating. Hard to clean off. You don't want that on a filter carrier. I learned my lesson. Â I think you can buy for $15 to $20 dollars. I have six or seven. Easier to store filters in than boxes in a drawer. I bought mine at B&H in NYC.
250swb Posted November 6, 2014 Share #3 Â Posted November 6, 2014 Tamrac or Lowepro both make good filter wraps. I also have a Tamrac and concur that you can get two filters in each pocket and it works very well. Beware however of cheap filter wraps, the lining is often inferior and sheds fibres. You also want one with a light coloured interior material (light grey in the case of the Tamrac and Lowepro wraps) so you can see the colour of the filter you want, if you have a black interior lining it becomes very frustrating.
