Bag for an M240 + EVF

My preference is a messenger style bag. I was ready to buy a Billingham Hadley Small camera bag, but I get the impression that my M240 won't fit easily with the EVF attached. I want to get it out easily and quickly.

I use the EVF a lot, as well as the rangefinder, so I often leave the EVF on. I'm looking for a bag for one body with lens & EVF plus one or two other lenses. When I bring my whole kit along, I use a large bag. then I usually just carry my camera without a bag to walk about. Now I'd like a sort of small bag. Any thoughts?

I have both the Billingham Hadley Pro and the Leica Combination. You can also add a large pocket to the side, where I either stash film or a light meter (when using my MP). I also have used the Combo bag with an M9, 3 lenses and an X2... all in how you pack it.

Yes it is thicker and that should solve the viewfinder problem....

What color are you thinking?

Thanks to all. "Color?" Probably "stealth black", though I like the sage and chocolate brown.

One off forum reviewer said the Hadley Pro bag was good for the top handle, but it was stiff and didn't conform to your body. Another thought the EVF was a tight fit. I don't want to damage it coming in and out of the bag frequently, though the above post says it fits. Thoughts?

Any other brand messenger style bag also recommended for the m 240 with EVF attached?

Get the Billingham Hadley Pro. The EVF mounted on the M240 along with a smallish lens like a 28,35 or 50 will fit just fine.

If you mount a Noctilux, things might get a bit crowded, unless you lay the camera on its back.

I use the .095 + the EVF. How easy is it to "lay the camera on its back" and get it in and out of the Pro quickly?

It would probably not be the best bag for a quick draw, but certainly not the worst, either. If you have the EVF attached, it might be better to insert the camera with the left edge of the body facing down. With either of the M240 grips attached, you would have a fairly quick draw by just grabbing the grip and withdrawing the camera (provided the straps are not buttoned up).

I have never used one of these (always have like them, though), but this bag looks like probably the best bag for quick draws: Speed Freak V2.0—Think Tank Photo This would not be my #1 choice for hot weather due to the color of the bag. My Hadley Pro is a great hot weather bag because I got the tan color, which will not heat up like an all black bag.

The "speed freak" looks like a possibility. I carry my full kit in a Think Tank Glass Taxi backpack and I really like it for a heavy load.

The Hadley Digital just might fit as the M 240 + EVF is 4 1/2 " the same as the bag, though I couldn't carry two lenses.

I guess the large Pro IS pretty big.

I just called B&H Photo. they recommended the Billingham Leica Combination Bag (or the same size Billingham L2). they said that even though the bag is 4.25" deep and the M 240 +

EVF is 4.50", it would work well.

Anyone out there use the Leica Combination or L2 who can confirm this as a good choice?

Thanks.

Here are two bags. The Combination and the f4 or f4.5 I forget.

The Combi handles body and 2-3 lenses.

I carry 5-6 and the body in the f4.

TheHENRI bag is beautiful. Wonder how an M 240 + EVF with a 50 mm .095 attached, & a 21 mm 1.4 would fit?

For sure the 1.4 35mm + 1.4 50mm would work

I read again the HENRI site. The bag is intended to carry the EVF OFF the camera, not ON and I want to keep it on much of the time.

I have among others, a Billingham A2 (formerly called the Alice), Hadley Original (medium), Domke J803 (with a 3-partition insert) and F5XB. All of them will hold my M240 (in a half-case) +EVF + 90 Cron (the closest lens in size to a Nocti I have). It's all in how the dividers are positioned and in what orientation you insert the camera. The difference is in terms of what other items you want to also put in the bag.
