stuny Posted May 8, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Of late I’ve shown a lot of NYC near my present office (in the Pan Am building – well, now the Met Life building). I thought I should show you some from downtown, where I used to work. The first is of 9-11 ground zero on the day of its 5th anniversary. The second is near the South Street Seaport, and is where my niece Candace works. The 3rd is at 17 State Street, a building with some rather interesting details in the lobby, where I must return to photograph them. I’ll post some with other themes before long. You can guess what they’ll be by looking at the 2nd & 3rd New York photo gallery pages on our site.

spylaw4 Posted May 8, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 8, 2007 Good bold colours and strong compositions - just as we've come to expect from your NY shots Stuart! I particularly like #2.
biglouis Posted May 8, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 8, 2007 Stuart You know my penchant for urban landscapes and these are very fine pictures. I like #2 a lot and would gladly see it larger (if the group only allowed it). The first picture might be even further improved by correcting the verticals. I don't know if you cropped the base but I suspect you could correct the verticals and rescale without losing the top of the right-most building. You work in a very iconic building! azzo Posted May 8, 2007 Share #4 Posted May 8, 2007 Tremendous ! Stuart, These are all very well framed and captured and very difficult to select one. Maybe No2 ? for the fantastic angle and the very interesting reflections. Lovely ! Azzo
haika Posted May 8, 2007 Share #5 Posted May 8, 2007 Stuart, while i like all three, i'm sorry i have to disagree with brian, ivan and louis and vote for number 3 as my favorite. the angles, although not as acute, are even bolder placed, and the expanse of sky and the "diminishing" of the older buildings make it for me. louis' suggestion for no 1 sounds interesting. i like to play with perspective control, as well. günter
