Advertisement Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 Hi cam2000, Take a look here White Picked Fence. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted May 8, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 8, 2007 Jacques - Lovely. Excellent balance of geometry with most of the dark lines going one way, and most of the light lines going another.
cam2000 Posted May 8, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted May 8, 2007 Thanks Stuart....... for commenting on this picture...... If it was not for your active part, this picture forum would be dead!
biglouis Posted May 8, 2007 Share #4 Posted May 8, 2007 Jacques, I felt like commenting but I was worried that if my thoughts were slightly negative then it begs the question, who am I to critique another person's work? Technically it is a fine picture and one which would easily look good in a calendar of Williamsburg pictures. Personally, it is a little too derivative for my liking and I would not buy such a calendar in the first place. That's not to say that a lot of people would not appreciate this picture. biglouis Posted May 8, 2007 Share #6 Posted May 8, 2007 Thanks Louis........ I guess it is my nature...... I am a commercial and industrial photographer! Jacques Well you obviously do a good job - that is clear from all the pictures you have taken and I always look at them and they are instructive. Some I like more than others Louis
elansprint72 Posted May 8, 2007 Share #7 Posted May 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Jacques, I missed this one. Nice to see that there is still an Olde Worlde US, this is a very "relaxing" photo; so often over here we only see the brash, trailer-trash view of America on TV (although with the current vist by Elizabeth Saxe-Coburg), we have seen some nice places on the News and had a few laughs courtesy of that Floridian too! I share Louis' reservations about making negative comments on other's work, so I would usually say nothing if a shot is off-beam. Evidently other folks who consider themselves to be "big guns" on the forum have no such reservations- but then they only have a fraction of your talent! I'd also like to say thanks to Stuart; for his support, advice and sense of humour. Keep posting.

lambroving Posted May 10, 2007 Share #10 Posted May 10, 2007 Jacques, You already know I enjoy your POV. This one very effectively captures the distilled essence of Colonial Williamsburg..., sans tourists. It's the Williamsburg I'd like to remember. Took my son there often, from the age of ~ 8, and he was graduated from the College of William & Mary and still lives in nearby Richmond.
cam2000 Posted May 11, 2007 Author Share #11 Posted May 11, 2007 Thanks Bernardo..... That goes for William also......The College of William & Mary is so big I would say it is the other part Williamsburg! I truly enjoyed the Virginia hospitality..... everyone was great and the weather was at the rendez-vous for the 400th aniversary of Jamestown and surroundings.....we even got to seen Queen Elizabeth for the ceremony. andybarton Posted May 12, 2007 Share #12 Posted May 12, 2007 Excellent use of beautiful, soft light here, Jacques. Lovely shot - I don't think I've seen a better one from this location. This could almost be where it is pretending to be
