philipus Posted October 6, 2014 Share #3 Posted October 6, 2014 Is there a reason you need IXMOOs? If you're just bulk loading yourself you can use anything from used film canisters to plastic/metal canisters bought from shops.

TomB_tx Posted October 7, 2014 Share #5 Posted October 7, 2014 Keep searching eBay, for various combinations of Leitz, film magazine, Leica, film cassette, etc. I've found enough at reasonable prices over the last two years to hold me, so they are there from time to time. I've also found nice examples of Zeiss, Canon (two styles), Nikon and Asahi (two styles). Of these only Asahi works in Leica (or any camera that takes standard cassettes), but they are interesting to compare.
tobey bilek Posted October 10, 2014 Share #6 Posted October 10, 2014 After you find them, a bench winder and Leica template will be required. Has to be the Leica template to point the film for insertion to the spool. The generic will not work and you can not get it properly cut in the dark. Option is a Watson loader which will open/close the door but the tail gets fogged. Look for them as the reloadible ones are not nearly as good. However M6TTL and later cameras will not accept IXMOO. Early M6 is fine.

Early M6 is fine. I already have a couple of IXMOO cassettes and a very basic Dayroll film loader. I am loading my films in darkness that I don't loose any film. The technique is pretty straightforward: 1. switch of the light 2. open Dayroll, cut the tip, insert it to the spool 3. push in the lever on the Dayroll = this opens the "seal" and film comes out freely out of the loader 4. I just turn the spool in my hands until Dayroll has made the "click" sound 41 times. This gives me 37 frames on a single roll. 5. Close the Dayroll and cover it with a black bag etc. Works like a charm.
