Advertisement Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Hi Vip, Take a look here New Leica M-P. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Exodies Posted October 15, 2014 Share #22 Posted October 15, 2014 My Leica M 240 was spotted by a fellow tourist today. He said to his friend "look, an old Leica". I spose I'll have to upgrade. The indignity!

Paulus Posted October 16, 2014 Share #24 Posted October 16, 2014 I like mine. Not as nice as an M9-P but nice. Does your case fit in the same way as in the M240?
jamriman Posted October 16, 2014 Share #25 Posted October 16, 2014 Does your case fit in the same way as in the M240? Yes, same dimensions as far as I know.
hamey Posted October 16, 2014 Share #26 Posted October 16, 2014 I think the red dot on the M240 looks great and prefer it greatly over the redesign of the M-P Yes I feel the same, frankly I love the RED dot, it's so symbolic and totally unique. I love that classic Leica silver chrome and in my opinion it's shear class. Last week I played with the black painted version, didn't like it at all. Ken. wattsy Posted October 17, 2014 Share #27 Posted October 17, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was interested to see that Leica UK is now offering a £500 'rebate' on the new M-P (you have to trade in any working DSLR and Leica will send you a cheque for £500 independent of what the dealer gives you as trade-in value). With the camera having only been out for a couple of months, sales must have been rather slower than expected.
DigitalHeMan Posted October 17, 2014 Share #28 Posted October 17, 2014 I have an old D70 that would be ideal for that purpose... Wonder if they will introduce that outside of the UK as well?
wattsy Posted October 18, 2014 Share #29 Posted October 18, 2014 Wonder if they will introduce that outside of the UK as well? They might do if sales are as slow as they presumably are in the UK. I've noticed that Nikon and Canon have recently dropped the RRP on a number of lenses and cameras (including recent introductions like the D810) and Nikon have a lens rebate running on some of the pro zooms. Leica UK have also recently dropped the RRP on some of the lenses like the 35 Summilux and 50 Noctilux, something I don't recall them doing before. Might well be currency related but I suspect it is more about attracting sales in a (locally) stagnant market for these kinds of goods.
jamriman Posted October 19, 2014 Share #30 Posted October 19, 2014 Wow a silver one just went for $6300 on eBay! Glad I got a demo.
colonel Posted October 19, 2014 Share #31 Posted October 19, 2014 Well the x100t is available pre order with a free case. There are many other examples. Camera firms need incentives to sell. Whilst Leica production was less then demand some people felt smug. Now they have the new factory they will likely always be ahead of demand. So welcome being a normal camera company ....
