Welcome to the LEICA- forum.

Would have been nice, could you have a better reason for your post #2. Since only LEICA will/ can work

on your digital camera, you should contact the nearest LEICA-repair station. In case you can´t find one send your camera

(recommended: DHL-wise) to Wetzlar. They will help you AFAP.

Search for an insurance within the many you might have. Or one of your friends.

Best

GEORG

true, but if you buy a used M9 you are getting a used sensor as well with no idea when it might have a problem, etc .... w/o warranty. Not sure I would do it again, however. Enjoying film so much more again and I can use that money and buy a T instead.

With a drop, unfortunately it is possible that there is other damage too of course. The sensor assembly is matched to the supporting circuit board as well (and so would be replaced together if needed). Damage from a heavy impact would likely be evident on disassembly.

If Camera Clinic can't quote/perform the work they will send the camera on to Wetzlar for you. Alternatively you may deal directly with Customer Care at Wetzlar.

I would be sitting down when I read the quote though, sorry

Good luck!
