stuny Posted May 6, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 6, 2007 Gunter - You must have been near the UN building, on 43rd St. -- I've never shot from that side in the morning and must do so. Lovely. Nice effect to have the lanterns on the right foreground.
haika Posted May 6, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted May 6, 2007 Stuart, probably between 47th and 48th, on lexington, looking south. günter

stuny Posted May 6, 2007 Share #6 Posted May 6, 2007 Günter - Had to have been 43rd and farther east than Lexington. The Chrysler building is between 42nd and 43rd, just east of Lexington between Lex & 3rd. This is in the morning, so we are seeing the eastern side of it, looking west. stuny Posted May 7, 2007 Share #8 Posted May 7, 2007 I owe an apology to Gunter. Above in this thread this arrogant Yank “corrected” him regarding from where he took this exquisite photo. Gunter showed a great deal more sensitivity and manners than did I by correcting me in a private message. Gunter is, of course correct, and I am sorry for my arrogance and insensitivity. haika Posted May 7, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted May 7, 2007 Stuart, no apology necessary, really! you have never given me - or anyone on the forum, i assume - the impression you are an "arrogant yank". i rather think of you as a person who loves photography, always sees the good aspect and intentions in an image, and always has a nice and encouraging word for other photographers. but thank you for your kind words! the shot was taken on a very special morning, this is how i remember so clearly where i was. on my "building blocks" thread, i have only a very faint clue where exactly i was... Andy, Brian, Dave, thank you for your nice comments! günter

cinekinetic Posted May 13, 2007 Share #13 Posted May 13, 2007 This photo is a masterpiece. If it were mine I'd blow it up to poster size and hang it in my lounge room. Mike
