cirke Posted September 15, 2014 Share #21 Posted September 15, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's good you make the affirmation, what he would not use. It is difficult to know what someone would not use under these circumstances (106, if still alive). after a certain age only what you know very well is good and you don't want to change ...` But there is doubt: he used a film M for landscape pühotography. And he never used a sub-miniature camera, that can be hidden in a cigarette pack. Those were the dated equivallents of the QX1.yes I agree totally , digital times went too late for him

That is exactly the rude and condescending answer I expected from you. You will do well in Sony forums.

Guest Posted September 16, 2014 Share #28 Posted September 16, 2014 yes I agree totally , digital times went too late for him Sorry, but I don't understand you. He could have used a Minox miniature camera, but he never did. Minox cameras were built starting 1945. (He used a CL and a Minilux, the former with his usual 50 mm. The latter with the built-in 40mm lens, btw NOT the one with the zoom, because at over 87 years he found an auto focus Leica easier to use.) Please let me repeat: HCB could have used a more compact camera or even a miniature one like the Minox but he never did. This decision had nothing to do eith digital photography. Now if you think, that changing your camera makes you a better photographer - go for it. And if changing the forum brings you to a platform, where you don't feel the need to insult and express your hatred for the tools of the readers - may the good-luck be with you. cirke Posted September 18, 2014 Share #29 Posted September 18, 2014 Now if you think, that changing your camera makes you a better photographer - go for it.But every photographer change time to time his camera, HCB or you or anyone , for any reason
AlanG Posted September 18, 2014 Share #30 Posted September 18, 2014 I don't think HCB considered shooting stills or videos from a quadcopter. This is a very interesting device for remote usage and tripod use too. And if you need an EVF, Sony has other choices.
tookaphotoof Posted September 20, 2014 Share #31 Posted September 20, 2014 Yeah yeah, HCB would have stopped shooting photos and started to shoot videos with a GoPro and and that flying helicopter stuff. Who cares? The question is, how would you like to work! Now, about that QX1 being the ultimate portable camera I wonder if it can charge my smartphone. If not, what's the point? In bright daylight you probably have to up the brightness of your phone. Ending up not heaving a viewfinder, lcd screen and not being able to make phone calls for the rest of the day doesn't really work for me.
indergaard Posted September 20, 2014 Share #32 Posted September 20, 2014 I can only imagine many iPhone's hitting the ground and getting cracked displays thanks to trying to get this lens thing attached and ready to go in a split second when "that moment" appears right in front of you on the streets Then when you have everything arranged and lined up, you get a phone call or a text that takes the focus away from the camera app Yeah... No thanks!

No thanks! If that is the way you take photographs, luck will not be with you in street photography, regardless of the camera type.
AlanG Posted September 23, 2014 Share #34 Posted September 23, 2014 This is a unique item for people to figure out how they might want to use it. Do we want all cameras to be the same? Or can we applaud Sony for being creative and making a wide range of models?
stuny Posted September 24, 2014 Share #35 Posted September 24, 2014 Every digital cmaera I've ever touched was ready to shoot in well under five seconds. My iPhone 4 takes about 2 minutes to be ready to accept my password, and even then will periodically ask for another password that I do not use, and must cancel before doing anything else. Smart phones are small computers that need to boot up, going through routines before they can be used. I suspect having the Sony kit as Erick describes might be too slow getting ready to shoot for him.
AlanG Posted September 24, 2014 Share #36 Posted September 24, 2014 Yes, this is not everyone's replacement of a dedicated camera. So you'd have to think how it could be useful to you before buying one. Sony ILCE-QX1 Review | PhotographyBLOG "If you have an NFC enabled device, pairing the two is very simple. All you need to do is tap the two together at the relevant points on each device and a connection will automatically begin without the need to enter a password. If you have Sony’s Playmemories app already installed on your phone, it will load straightaway, but if you don’t, you’ll be prompted to download it from the Google Play store. If you have an iPhone or other Wi-Fi only device, you’ll need to enter the password which is found under the battery slot flap. Although a little more fiddly, once you’ve done it once it becomes easier. Whichever method you use to connect, there will always be a delay of at least a couple of seconds, making this a slower option than a standalone camera if you’re trying to photograph something quick."
