Tom Barry Posted September 8, 2014 Share #1  Posted September 8, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) For the first time this season, R.T. showed up at the feeder while I was sitting nearby with the FZ1000. I think this happens because blooms are becoming scarcer as summer fades, and the sugar water is so attractive that it overcomes the male's natural caution. I think these are the best two shots so far:   Welcome, dear visitor! Hank Taylor Posted September 8, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted September 8, 2014 Tom no question these are beautiful shots, so clear and sharp. Ruby's husband is a good looking bird and you did him justice. Â Hank

k-hawinkler Posted September 9, 2014 Share #6 Â Posted September 9, 2014 Tom, Â Not at all extravagent but justly deserved! You are really producing stunning shots now of those little birds. I know how hard it is. Have you already noticed a change in your hummingbird population when the hummers from further north travel thrrough your area? When that happens there is a lot of fighting between them.
pauledell Posted September 9, 2014 Share #7 Â Posted September 9, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Tom, Â I don't know how this could be any better. Lovely colors and as sharp as a tack. Â Paul
Iduna Posted September 9, 2014 Share #8 Â Posted September 9, 2014 Tom, these are excellent results being tack sharp and with precise focus. But beyond that what makes a good picture is the composition and colors and the right timing. You managed all of these aspects perfectly.
Tom Barry Posted September 9, 2014 Author Share #9 Â Posted September 9, 2014 Thanks to all for the comments. I think I'm starting to see some new birds drop by, and I'm hoping to see some fussing soon, which will be fun and frustrating to try to capture.
