In countries that are outside the EU (as in the European Union, not Europe) express service is not offered simply because Leica doesn't control customs, which in some places will take longer time than the repair/service itself. That's the reply I got directly from Leica Customer Service. I could however pay for express service to have the service performed quickly when my camera arrived at Solms (back then). But they could not provide any time for the shipping and customs clearance, which can vary greatly from country to country. To get the express service without the time guarantee I had to contact Leica CS and explicitly ask for this. Even the Norwegian importer/distributor/service center could not offer me this directly.
