WMiashiro Posted September 3, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted September 3, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I will be traveling for 2 weeks and want to be able to post/email some pictures taken with M, no processing. What do you recommend: iPad or MBP?

FlashGordonPhotography Posted September 3, 2014 Share #4 Â Posted September 3, 2014 Another vote for the MacBook Air 11". Great machine. Â But..... Â I like Macs. I have a new Mac Pro on my desk which replaces a MBP 17". I have a fully loaded, current 11" Air (i7, 8GB, 512SSD). It's great. But I made the mistake of looking at the new Surface 3 Pro for my daughter and ended up getting one for myself as well. What a fantastic travel machine. The screen is fabulous and the digitiser allows real photo editing almost anywhere. All in a package the same size and weight as an Air11" when you add on the surface keyboard. It has also relegated my tablet to limited home use. Â Well worth a look. Â Gordon
stunsworth Posted September 3, 2014 Share #5 Â Posted September 3, 2014 If all you wanted was internet browsing, email, and tv/radio I'd say iPad, but since you want to post images from a camera I think the MBP would be the better solution. Â I'm off for two weeks and will be taking a iPad mini.
LocalHero1953 Posted September 4, 2014 Share #6 Â Posted September 4, 2014 I've tried iPad and MBA13". The problem with the iPad is getting images on and off it: it can be done, but in the absence of proper file management tools it is hard work, and if you want to do even the minimum processing (straighten, crop, perhaps exposure and WB) it is also hard work - and you will have to redo the edits when you get home. A "real" computer makes doing these tasks much more efficient.
Echo63 Posted September 6, 2014 Share #7 Â Posted September 6, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Another vote for the 11" MBA - its my only machine i have here at home (i have a work issued MBP 13" at work, but its only used at work) Â if you are choosing between two devices you already have, then take the MBP - you have proper editing tools (PS, LR etc) and the ability to properly back up your files. although the iPad can be used, it is better suited for content consumption and sending emails, not as a content creation device.
