stunsworth Posted July 28, 2006 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Since everyone and their dog seems to be posting images of New Brighton at the moment (great panorama Andy, makes it look like an attractive town ;-), here's a skyline view that I'm sure Mr B will recognise. Heaven knows what the New Brighton tourist board would make of all this exposure. Canon 5D, 50mm Summicron
Advertisement Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Hi stunsworth, Take a look here New Brighton skyline. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted July 28, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 28, 2006 Is it one of the "fun" places along the front? I don't tend to look at the town itself, unless I am half a mile out to sea. It's a bit faded round the edges, lets say (until those nasty property developers come along and sort it out)
stunsworth Posted July 28, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted July 28, 2006 Andy, yes it's one of the pleasure palaces on the prom. When I was a kid my grandparents used to take me to New Brighton as a day out - in those days there was a ferry from Liverpool pier head. One of the projects I've had on the backburner for quite some time is of run down UK seaside resorts. Not very immaginative I know, and I think it would have to be done out of season, but there is something facinating about places like New Brighton and say Rhyl - in the same way that a broken window is more interesting than one that isn't. stuny Posted July 28, 2006 Share #4 Posted July 28, 2006 Steve - The geometrics and limited, bold colors make this rather effective. I rather like the idea of you doing a study of rundown UK seaside resorts.

This is a suggestion for the NW "boys" Winter meeting? We would need a freezing, sunny day, rather than just cold and wet, like wot it is now.
