Tony Smith Posted August 26, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 26, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just been given a large macro photo device with the code number 14532. It has a large glass stage illuminated from below with a 12cm summar lens attached to a long bellows with vertical focussing. On top of this is a focusing system is a bayonet to receive an M body. The whole assembly is about 50cm high and built as only Leica can. I have no instructions and can't seem to get focus at all! If any member knows of this equipment and can offer any advice I would be bery grateful. There was also an almost mint M1 and an equally fine f 2.8 Elmar, these I have purchased. Michael Hiles Posted August 27, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 27, 2014 I don't know about the number - buy what you describe sounds like an Aristophot.

Tony Smith Posted August 29, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted August 29, 2014 Many thanks Gentlemen for your replies. Clearly it is an Aristophot with the 12cm summar lens. This one is set up to use a leica M body. Having tried to focus on a coin to no avail I will now try a tissue section and illuminate it from below. Wish me luck!
