Mark - excellent image and brave of you to shoot in this weather. Have you thought of cropping the right side of the image just right of the umbrella? There's a fine image there as well.

And I'd also try Paul's suggestion. Particularly after cropping.

Just my two bits......

thanks to all of you for your nice comments.

Those of you who know me are aware that I mainly shoot for B&W. In fact I now mainly use the Monochrom. It therefore tried this photo in B&W first but those colours were so nice, especially after work in PS and a Fuji Superior 800 conversion for the grain and colours. One thing I like about night photography is that the photos are always a surprise as the camera sees things and colours our eyes can't see.

I also really like 1x1 format. However I liked the women in the background and seeing where they were going, and the distortion of the streetlight from that droplet in just the right spot on the lens.

I will post a B&W conversion and 1x1 crop tomorrow night for your comments.

Kind regards,

Mark

Mark - I Thought the colors were very nice and would have told you otherwise. I respect other's reactions to your photo, but wouldn't change a thing. The grain also has a nice suede feel to it, if that makes any sense.
