topoxforddoc Posted August 14, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 14, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just got a new S 006, which is replacing one of my DMRs, which has a smashed screen. I gather that the S 006 has gorilla glass rather than sapphire. I use an AC MAXX on the back of my M9. I see that there is one made by AC MAXX for the S 006. The AC MAXX sticks around the edge of the screen (not on it). Has anyone used it and if so, what do you think?

Guest Posted August 14, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 14, 2014 Charlie, No screen cover on the S...an upgrade for me from the S2-P... Based on the Gorilla glass on my iPhone I am not as compulsive about a screen cover but I do maintain "sterile technique" with regards to my equipment. Kinda think if I hit it hard enough to break the Gorilla glass then a protector may not add a lot. The loss of contrast on the screen with a protector is significant...however once you learn to trust the histogram you will ignore the screen most of the time you are shooting. It is always in a Think tank/ Lowpro when I am not shooting with the camera. Just make sure that no granite or other dense materiel is on the screen prior to cleaning...I tend to ignore it until I am in a safe place to clean without damaging. Enjoy the camera...truly a step up from the DMR. Bob
