Advertisement Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Hi alan.y, Take a look here Summicron-M 28 ASPH for USD 1100?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted August 2, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 2, 2014 What a bargain! Appears indeed like an error. Or could it reflect the expected pricedrop in connection with the coming 28mm SUMMILUX ? Best GEORG
alan.y Posted August 2, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted August 2, 2014 It was listed in the category of "Vintage Lenses"... Perhaps someone at KEH thought this was a "Pre-APO" Summicron 28.
349A Posted August 2, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 2, 2014 Clearly a mistake and likely will not be sold at that price. I've bought items at way below actual worth and the transactions have always been canceled.

BerndReini Posted August 2, 2014 Share #6 Posted August 2, 2014 Or could it reflect the expected pricedropin connection with the coming 28mm SUMMILUX ? Yeah right, that price is not going to drop. The 28lux will be outrageously expensive. My guess is more than $6,000, and the 28cron aspherical is a wonderful lens. If anything, the timing of the summiluxes is a little unfortunate considering Leica now has cameras that allow for usable ISO beyond 2000. I bet it was a pre-aspherical 28mm. retapi Posted August 2, 2014 Share #7 Posted August 2, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) . I bet it was a pre-aspherical 28mm. was there one?
Dougg Posted August 3, 2014 Share #8 Posted August 3, 2014 ...I bet it was a pre-aspherical 28mm. That would not be a Summicron, though.
BerndReini Posted August 3, 2014 Share #9 Posted August 3, 2014 No, it would be an Elmarit, but thinking about it, $1,100 would be unrealistically cheap for that as well.
alan.y Posted August 3, 2014 Author Share #10 Posted August 3, 2014 The photos on the listing are uambiguously of a Cron, but keh may have got those wrong. Anyway, a few weeks ago I was seeing a BGN Cron on KEH for $2450 or so. Now it's gone. Maybe this was that.

Anyway, a few weeks ago I was seeing a BGN Cron on KEH for $2450 or so. Now it's gone. Maybe this was that. It does say that the photos on the listing are of the actual item.... BerndReini Posted August 3, 2014 Share #12 Posted August 3, 2014 I can't access the original listing any longer, but at that price, it almost needs to have a scratch on the front element for them to sell it that low. This is the kind of low price where I usually expect a scam on ebay.
349A Posted August 3, 2014 Share #13 Posted August 3, 2014 Its a mistake, end of story.
Bill W Posted August 7, 2014 Share #14 Posted August 7, 2014 Surely they will need to find a 12466 hood for their new lens....
