A miller Posted July 7, 2014 Share #4 Posted July 7, 2014 very very cool. You nailed the vintage look save for the modern car on the far right, which can easily be (and should be) cropped out.
pauledell Posted July 7, 2014 Share #5 Posted July 7, 2014 A timeless shot that can be improved by cropping the auto on the right as previously suggested. The ladies in the background looking over the mens shoulders add to the interest. Paul

Winedemonium Posted July 9, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted July 9, 2014 Thanks for the advice. I have cropped this square. I think it looks stronger (the shop window figure providing compositional balance while emphasising the retro theme) - and the modern clue is lost. I just wish I'd got him in focus! But there was no time. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! newnew Posted July 9, 2014 Share #10 Posted July 9, 2014 I like the original shot a lot. The cars waiting for your special personage is adding more meaning to his attitude . So, no crop for me:).
roguewave Posted July 10, 2014 Share #11 Posted July 10, 2014 Thanks for the advice. I have cropped this square. But there was no time. A very good move.
samwells Posted July 16, 2014 Share #12 Posted July 16, 2014 Extraordinary! And the cartoon matelot in the shop window is a bonus… cheers: Sam
Winedemonium Posted July 17, 2014 Author Share #13 Posted July 17, 2014 Extraordinary! And the cartoon matelot in the shop window is a bonus… cheers: Sam Yes, I think the cropping actually brings that character in more prominence as it balances the composition. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this group. I thought they looked great.

Tom Barry Posted July 21, 2014 Share #15 Posted July 21, 2014 Both versions are valid, but I prefer the cropped version because it emphasizes the subjects without losing the context.
