bocaburger Posted July 13, 2014 Share #41 Posted July 13, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) You could have a point Jeff. It being heavier does cause me to grip it tighter, which my brain might be translating as thickness. I do tend to keep my thumb against the sloped part of the thumb wheel shroud. It's really only something I notice going back and forth between it and the M9, which won't be much longer as I need to sell it soon.
Advertisement Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Hi bocaburger, Take a look here M8 to M9 worth it?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
IWC Doppel Posted July 13, 2014 Share #42 Posted July 13, 2014 There is a smaller weight increase by %age with lens on I suspect in any case ( I couldn't be bothered to check specs). The reality is its thicker and you can notice this. It's not a complex pseudo phenomenon

erl Posted July 13, 2014 Share #44 Posted July 13, 2014 The only thing that really counts is your perception of how it feels. The reality is merely a statistic on the drawing board.

Agreed, but Doppel's point was that "it's not a complex pseudo phenomenon"; rather "it's thicker" (statistically) and that's what one notices. In response, I pointed out that, statistically, it's no BFD. It is, rather, about perception….and possibly the additional role of added weight (and accommodating grip) as discussed above.
