gteague Posted February 26, 2020 Share #50  Posted February 26, 2020 well, this thread went downhill rapidly from the op to here.   i'm with the original poster, my sop with any camera no matter how valuable is to add the prophylactics of uv/clear b+w filter and nearly always a screen protector although some cameras resist the latter. my cl is coming today, but i already have in hand a half case, a thumbs-up (just in case the case doesn't add enough grip), a rope neck strap, and some screen protectors which i'll decide whether to apply or not when it gets here. one concern always with a rangefinder or evf camera is that only my left eyes works and this puts my nose squarely in the center of the touchscreen meaning that when i get a new camera no matter how bleeding edge the touch screen, i have to turn it off. and of all the reviews and docs i've read on the cl so far i haven't seen whether you can turn it off or not. if not and it focuses when you touch it the evf usage will be very degraded as i won't be able to get my eye close enough. but i'll find out shortly. back in the film days i used to ruin $500 pairs of glasses trying to screw my eye closer to the vf/rf window. those were very hard plastic and although you could get an eyecup, that put you even further behind the eight ball. until nikon came out with the hp (high eyepoint) viewfinders i was pretty well screwed and resigned to never seeing a full image. /guy Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
