Thanks ~AG. I bought the X1 when first launched and still use it today, often as a companion to M9 or X Vario.

The point about minimum shutter speed is a very valid one. I try to use above 1/60th for all outdoor work, often using 250 or 500th. Indoors I even try to avoid using 1/60th unless I can brace the camera against a firm object. To compensate, I use Auto ISO. It is easier to reduce any troublesome noise in pp than try to rescue a picture suffering from camera shake.

Any X1 replacement will only begin to tempt me if it comes with a faster lens (Summarit or Summicron).

I bought my X1 just some weeks ago, was a new one from a store, one of the last produced I could see on the serial number. So my new X1 is also a completely new camera for me and I can say after some using and getting familiar with it: I love it! Never before I had a camera with "nozoom" but I do not miss it in normal situations on vacation and travelling. If really needed, I can use my old V-Lux 1 in situations I cannot come nearer to the subject. I think now about buying a small V-Lux 20 or 30 to put it in my bag being "save" for every situation. But as a main camera, my X1 is a really wonderful machine and sure it is not "old fashioned".
