TheGodParticle/Hari Posted November 6, 2016 Author Share #687 Posted November 6, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thank you Unfortunately I was sick and I missed Photokina :/ However, I will be in Wetzlar sometime next week and can provide some sample images as well we preliminary feedback on the lens. I'll try and make some quick and dirty comparisons with the SL 50/1.4 vs M-50/1.4ASPH and M-50/2APO. Obviously won't be scientific but I'll do it for whatever it may be worth. To come back to comparing the SL50/1.4 with the other lenses, I was advised to wait till December. The firmware for the lens is not final yet and hence none of the usual suspects have been able to release the first test images/reviews either.

BerndReini Posted November 7, 2016 Share #689 Posted November 7, 2016 The firmware for the lens is not final yet and hence none of the usual suspects have been able to release the first test images/reviews either. That's already suspect that the lens needs a final firmware in order to test its optical performance. I understand the firmware requirement for autofocus, but it shouldn't have any impact on the image quality, unless of course there is considerable software correction applied. I guess it doesn't matter if the results are good, but a 50mm really shouldn't require much software correction.
Exodies Posted November 7, 2016 Share #690 Posted November 7, 2016 The fact that a lens will only be used on a digital camera affects the design space.

m0n0 Posted November 13, 2016 Share #694 Posted November 13, 2016 Jan1985's pictures (the magical one above, for example) have done me in. I just bought the lens. I've had the M Monochrom since it came out, and it makes beautiful images with the SX 35 & 50 ASPH and so on, but now it has found its perfect match. Seeing is believing.

But I don't see my pictures that good... :-) All the others here do pretty and nicely work...
